2009 'Alternative Nobel Prize' winner to headline U.S.–Canada energy event at UCLA

Science broadcaster David Suzuki keynotes conference on green economy

WHAT:
The U.S. and Canada share a unique opportunity to build a new North American economy that is both sustainable and competitive in a globalized world. "Greening the North American Energy Relationship: Building a Stronger U.S.–Canada Environmental Partnership" opens a window on current policy issues and explores how entrepreneurs, innovators and energy companies, from petroleum producers to nuclear power producers, are working to design solutions to lead North America to a greener economic future.
 
WHO:  
Award-winning science broadcaster David Suzuki, host of the long-running Canadian television series "The Nature of Things" and the PBS series "The Secret of Life," will keynote the event. Suzuki received a 2009 Right Livelihood Award, often called the "Alternative Nobel Prize," for advocating the socially responsible use of science and for raising awareness about climate change and building public support for policies to address it.
