Public safety agencies plan training exercise at UCLA on Aug. 5

WHAT: UCLA police, the FBI, the LAPD, the Los Angeles Fire Department and other public safety agencies will conduct a large-scale training exercise on the UCLA campus. Also participating will be emergency medical personnel from Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The training scenario involves volunteers posing as gunshot victims and a major response from multiple agencies. Additional details are not being made public so that the emergency-response skills of participants can be accurately assessed.
 
WHEN: Tuesday, Aug. 5 (8 a.m. check-in for credentials, 11:30 a.m. media availability).
Access to the area will be tightly controlled. Journalists must check in, receive credentials and be accompanied by PIOs inside the training area.
 
WHERE: Residence hall area, northwest portion of campus.
