Racial Diversity in Magnet Schools
The Los Angeles Times and blogs in the Baltimore Sun and St. Petersburg Times report today on a study by the Civil Rights Project/Proyecto Derechos Civiles at UCLA examining the impact of racially integrated magnet schools. The Riverside Press-Enterprise reported on the research Tuesday. Gary Orfield, UCLA professor of education and co-director of the Civil Rights Project, is quoted in the LA Times.
Prof Comments on Breast Cancer Research
Robert Kaplan, chair of the department of health services at the UCLA School of Public Health, was interviewed Tuesday on San Francisco’s KCBS-740 AM about a recent study suggesting that some breast cancers may disappear without treatment. Kaplan's editorial on the study was cited Tuesday in HealthDay News and Bloomberg articles.
