Leonard Binder

Leonard Binder, distinguished professor of political science and past director of the UCLA Center for Near Eastern Studies, is an internationally known specialist on Middle East politics and Islamic political thought. He has done field research in Egypt, Iran, Lebanon, Tunisia and Pakistan and is the author of several books on the Near East and Middle East.
Binder is a member of both the Islamic Studies and the Near East Studies interdisciplinary programs.
