David Jackson

Biography
David Jackson, professor of earth and space sciences, is an authority on seismology and earthquake forecasting. A geophysicist, he has conducted multiple statistical analyses aimed at the probability of earthquakes, especially in Southern California. Jackson is active with the Southern California Earthquake Center, a community of more than 600 scientists from more than 60 institutions worldwide, funded by the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Geological Survey to develop a comprehensive understanding of earthquakes and to communicate useful knowledge for reducing earthquake risk.
