Biography
Mladen Vucetic is professor of civil engineering, teaching and conducting research in the field of geotechnical engineering.
His research interests encompass: (a) stress-strain conditions in the NGI type direct simple shear test, (b) fundamental aspects of the cyclic and dynamic behavior of clays, silts and sands under uniform and irregular cyclic loads, (c) small-strain cyclic and dynamic behavior of soils, (d) liquefaction mechanism using nonlinear computer models and case history studies, (e) behavior of soil-nailed excavations during earthquakes using centrifuge modeling, (f ) development of geotechnical site data bases and their utilization in seismic microzoning using GIS.
