Biography
Ed Leamer, UCLA’s Chauncey J. Medberry Professor of Management and director of the UCLA Anderson Forecast, is a world-renowned econometrician and an authority on a wide range of economic issues, including ecomonic forecasting, labor relations, international trade, engergy and product reliability.
 
As director of the Anderson Forecast, he his responsible for the forecast's quarterly reports on the U.S. and California economies.
 
Leamer's research interests cover a broad set of topics in the analysis of non-experimental data and the economics of globalization. Among his recent areas of interests are an episodic analysis of the U.S. business cycle, the impact of the Internet on economic geography, the effect of globalization on the U.S. economy and the potential impact of the Free Trade Area of the Americas program on inequality in Latin America.
 
Leamer is available to speak on a wide variety of issues including economic recession, the mortgage industry, national debt and interest rates. He is also available to comment on various current event issues related to local, national and international economies.
