Biography
Sean Hecht, executive director of the UCLA Environmental Law Center and co-director of the Frank G. Wells Environmental Law Clinic, is an expert on environmental law and policy.
 
His research interests include the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions; the relationship between climate change and the insurance sector; environmental-impact analyses of governmental decisions; the regulation of freshwater resources and waterbodies under the Clean Water Act; and the ways in which resource management and government decision-making adapt to changing climatic conditions.
 
Hecht is fomer chair of and a current adviser to the State Bar of California's environmental law section, and he serves on the executive committee of the Los Angeles County Bar environmental law section. He works to build collaborations between academia and practicing environmental lawyers and policymakers.
