Biography
Fong, an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA, co-directs the UCLA Impulse Control Disorders Clinic. He regularly comments on issues related to compulsive behavior, depression and psychotherapy.
 
Fong's primary research interest is understanding the neurobiological mechanisms that contribute to pathological behavior.
 
He also co-directs the UCLA Gambling Studies Program, which is devoted to understanding pathological gambling and its causes and translating research into effective treatment, prevention and education programs to reduce individual and societal damages. The clinic treats pathological gamblers through both psychotherapy and pharmocotherapy.
