Biography
Kantathi Suphamongkhon is a senior fellow at the UCLA Burkle Center for International Relations and a UC Regents' Professor. Prior to his tenure at UCLA, he served as Thailand's 39th foreign minister.
 
Throughout his career, Suphamongkhon has worked in many diplomatic and political capacities. He began his career in 1984 with Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and also worked at the Department of International Organizations and the Department of Political Affairs. He went on to represent Thailand as a diplomat at the United Nations in New York. He has served as foreign affairs adviser to the prime minister of Thailand, the speaker of the Thai House of Representatives and as the country's official trade representative.
