UCLA presents annual entertainment design showcase

Event features costume, set, sound design by students from across the U.S.

WHAT:
The sixth annual Design Showcase West at UCLA, the only national entertainment design showcase on the West Coast, will feature the work of students graduating from the nation's top university design programs, including UCLA, the University of Southern California, the California Institute of the Arts, Carnegie Mellon University, New York University, Yale University, the University of Texas–Austin and the North Carolina School of the Arts. Exhibits range from costume design to set, sound and lighting design.
 
WHO:
Acclaimed theatrical sound designer Jonathan Deans will deliver the keynote address.
 
WHEN:
Saturday, June 7
  • 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. (invitation only, Deans' keynote)
  • 2–6 p.m. (open to the public)
 
WHERE:
Freud Playhouse at Macgowan Hall, on the UCLA campus
 
BACKGROUND:
Design Showcase West is attended by hundreds of entertainment producers, directors and A-list designers who are looking for new talent. An invitation-only review session for top-level industry professionals will open the showcase. Members of the public can attend the open session. The event is co-sponsored by the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
 
COST:
Admission is free. Parking is available for $8 in Lot 3.
