UCLA faculty experts advisory: 20th anniversary of Loma Prieta earthquake in Bay Area

This weekend marks the 20th anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake in the Bay Area, which caused 63 deaths and $10 billion in damage and halted the 1989 World Series. UCLA has faculty with earthquake-related expertise.
 
Jonathan Stewart, professor and vice chair of the UCLA Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, is an earthquake engineering expert with extensive experience documenting the effects of major quakes in California, Turkey, Taiwan, India and Greece.
