Family criticizes state investigation of lab safety following accidental death
The Los Angeles Times and Associated Press reported today that the family of a UCLA staff research assistant who died from injuries received in an accidental laboratory fire is criticizing the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health investigation and asking for tougher sanctions against the campus.
UCLA Kidney Transplant Chains Transform Lives
The Whittier Daily News reported Saturday on a Pico Rivera resident who recently donated a kidney to a stranger as part of a transplant chain started at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Jeffrey Veale, assistant professor-in-residence of urology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and director of UCLA's paired-donation program, was quoted.
