Internet Use Boosts Brain Activity
The New York Daily News, a Topeka Capital Journal blog, KTLA-Channel 5 and the news blog Mashable reported Tuesday on a brain-imaging study by researchers at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA that found that individuals with little Internet experience demonstrated increased brain activity after just one week of surfing the Web. Study author Dr. Gary Small, professor of psychiatry and director of the UCLA Center on Aging, was quoted in the Daily News article and interviewed for the KTLA broadcast; study author Teena Moody, a senior research associate at the Semel Institute, was quoted in the Mashable article.
