UCLA Lauded for Help in Train Tragedy
The Los Angeles Times reports today on Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center's treatment of trauma patients injured in the recent Metrolink train crash in Chatsworth, Calif. Dr. Gill Cryer, professor of surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and trauma director at the medical center, is quoted. The L.A. Times also features a column today by Dr. Mark Morocco, assistant professor at the Geffen School and associate residency director of emergency medicine at the medical center, about his experiences treating victims of the crash.
Troop 'Surge' Less Effective Than Claimed

Dust a Result of Planetary Collision
Reuters reported Saturday on research led by UCLA physics and astronomy professor Benjamin Zuckerman that suggests that dust floating around a binary star system some 300 light-years from Earth is the result of a massive collision between two planets.
